I am not making excuses but I wanted to get some clarification on some of the non calls. On one of the plays where Durant was being chased the defender grabbed him in a horse caller grip then let's go, which threw Durant's timing off but isnt flagged for the penalty. I imagine that the rule states you have to tackle the guy for that flag to be thrown but in a League that says they want to protect QBs shouldn't that be called anyway just due to the safety concerns.
Also I am a little rusty on the roughing the kicker penalty and I thought Johnson was hit on the blocked punt since he came up funny but didnt see a good replay of it. Is there no roughing the kicker penalty if you make contact with the ball first?
I know the refs didnt cost us the game and I know they are only human it's just frustrating to see some inconsistancy on holding calls from O-lineman. Or having the O-line facemask your DE on a play. Everything moves too quick sometimes and my group of friends watching the game had some interesting discussions trying to figure out what the refs want to call or not.
Anyway if anyone can help clarify the first 2 or just discuss them it would be a great help.
Let's kick some bomber butt next week!
