    Some quotes

"The message to the playersis that you have to be good at both ends of the ice," said Yzerman.
That doesn't mean Team Canada will excusively play the trap come February in Vancouver. It's more about doing the right things away from the puck, according to Babcock.
"The better we are without it (the puck) the more we will have it," said Babcock. "We have to play a 200-foot game."
Cam Ward did not take to the ice like Getzlaf tonight he is experiencing some back pain and will be re-assessed as the camp proceeded.

Team White looks like it could actually be Team Canada.

They better not even think of breaking up the Nash, Getzlaf, Heatley line that was so dominant two years ago at Worlds. Those guys were absolutely unstoppable.
I know Getzlaf is injured right now, but come February they better be together. That's Canada's top line without a doubt.

St.Louis and McDonald won't make the team IMO. Neither will Beauchemin or M.Staal.

I was kind of hoping to see the Getz/Carter combination that dominated 2 World Juniors.

WTF is Marc Staal doing there? Is he considered in the top echelon of Canadian defenseman?

Is it a pity invite because the rest of his familiy's there?

There must have been someone more worthy to actually invite to this camp.

Fleury should dethrone anyone in the two spot at net and are we all in agreement that Martin Brodeur will be the third guy this time around ?

And Mr Canada, Ryan Smyth... ?? Ahhhhh, no. Also pass the baton there.

Haha, it's too bad we didn't have players with the last names Stills and Young, then we could have Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

Sounds like Crosby, Nash and Iginla are pencilled in as the #1 line. I'd like to see Getzlaf, Heatley and Nash as well, but then you have to find someone else to play wing with Crosby and Iginla... E. Staal maybe?

Iginla needs to get off Crosby's line. If he stays there then he is bound to bring him down.

Sorry but I can't stand Iginla and he may be the most over rated guy going there. I just about threw up when Mark Spector said on Sportsnet last night that he expects Iginla to be the captain.

    Please no.

Iginla should be the captain, he deserves it.

Tell me one good reason he does not deserve, in my mind he should be the clear cut favorite to wear the C in Vancouver.

That line looks deadly and one would dream to have a line like that you have two guys that put pucks in the net with the other feeding the puck.

Simon Gagne left the ice this morning with a groin injury, this afternoon the boys are doing some team bonding as they hit the golf course.

Nope. Brodeur as #1 or #2 unless he completely bombs to start the season. I would be very surprised if Fleury passes him. In fact, I would bring in Cam Ward as #3 instead of Fleury.

    Agreed on Smyth though.

Agreed on Smyth as well, but #1 and #2 in no particular order will be Brodeur and Luongo. It might depend on how the season starts, but I see Cam Ward taking #3.

Interesting. Remember during the Stanley Cup playoffs that some people said Chris Osgood gets a raw deal and deserves to be considered with the top goalies?
Apparently his own GM, Stevie Y, didn't think so
