Agreed on all of the above. Robyn maybe needs to tone down the eye lashes though. A bit over done there...

On to the game, yes both teams did not play well. Caitlyn Lawes was absolutely horrid at third for Jones.

Silvernagle missed an easy hit and stick for 2 in the first end. Just cannot do that at this level.

Jessie Hunkin, Silvernagle's 2nd was terrible all night on draws. Really quite a lot of amateur misses....way light on draw #1 in an end. Then way heavy on draw #2.

Probably the most consistent player on the ice was Lawton.

Even Jones had some bad misses. Almost hit and rolled too far (into the middle 12 foot) to almost lose the game in 10.

This was a game that Saskatchewan easily could have had. They might be kicking themselves later on in the event that they didn't win this.

Looking at the rest of the pool. They absolutely have to run the table the rest of the way. Maybe...maybe a loss to Scheidegger

Anything worse than 5-2 in the first round would be disappointing. Outside of Carey, Homan, Jones and Scheidegger there really isn't anyone any good.

Silvernagle team playing a decent game against Scheidegger. A flashed hit by Silvernagle forced them to take 1 in 2. Silvernagle made a great draw in 3 buried against 2 stones. Scheidegger tried a tap for 2 but wrecked on a guard. Scheidegger then made a great double bump to lie 2 in 5. Silvernagle couldn't hit and roll. Casey had an open hit for 2 in 5. 2-2 after 5, so a nice game against definitely a contender at this event.

Also....what does it say about the audience of curling when:

              1. The title sponsor for the TSN Skins game a couple of weeks back was 'Everest Funeral Concierege'.....AND
              2. Every other add in the timeouts is from the 'Acorn Stairlift Company'.....

Robyn with a nice draw to the back 4 to get 2 in 6.

Then two great draws to the top 4 in 7. Great positioning and not much for Casey. A hit and roll out on Casey's first. Then she was wide/heavy on basically a draw to bit a piece of the button with her last. Steal of 2 for Saskatchewan in 7.

In control up 6-2 playing 8.

Not sure about the “”in control”” part. This team seems to fade a bit in the final ends .. although they did survive a scare with Robyn’s last rock peel out of the Alberta shot stone.

SK will eventually have to play a bit more aggressively/offensively, when circumstances allow, to beat the top teams, IMO.

LOL...I get what you are saying. But they were definitely "in control" at the time.

Casey did make a nice bump up to secure a 2 in 8. Robyn played a good end and with her first stone drew top 4 which made Casey's only chance for a deuce the bump. Which she made.

The strategy and execution in the 9th end was brutal. Robyn should have played that easy double in the house with her first. Insteady she decides to run in that tight guard and try to get the other red off the 4 foot. A shot that pretty much the entire team had missed wide already that end. Again, she misses wide. Allowing Casey a freeze on top of her own stone. Why she didn't just hit those rocks on the nose and give up the 1, I don't know. Anyways, again, she misses the inturn hit wide, and gives up the steal of 2

Anyways, they had a good 10th end and secured the win.

With Jones losing this morning...getting first in this round is definitely within reach, especially since Scheidegger and Jones play each other.

They need to win the rest of these games though, especially considering the opposition that they now face.

I am disappointed that Shannon Brichard never made it in. WOW!! Would have been the hottest one there by far!

Getting tired of the announcers being so pro-Jones. it seems like they just can't admit that NB outplayed Jones tonight.
