Not every player benefits from getting to the majors faster even if some think they are ready. Many players rushed up have had trouble adjusting. I really donít see the benefit in going too fast.

          • Extra inning loss after fighting back, unfortunately no loser points in baseball.

Nope, but at least another strong outing from a starter. This time young Thornton.

Lots of neat stuff to watch for, even if they lose more than they win. SO far Charlie Montoyo looks like a very popular coach as well.

              • Some excellent pitching. Brutal base running totally unacceptable atMlb level.

Thatís a fair point. The other end of that is that it does not help a player improve and reach their potential by playing against talent that they are far superior too. If a player is ready to be in the majors, they should be there, and the faster they get there, the faster they either get sent down with things to work on, or roster pieces complementing them can be added to the major league club, both of which will help speed up a rebuild. Having a guy down in the minors to save service time, or because thatís the way itís always been is not helpful to the team or players or fans.

Not my fault everyone wants actually good prospects to start in the minors to save one of the richest owners in baseball a few bucks by gaining a year of club control which they won't use to sign actual talent or even resign said talented rookies in 7 years.

Rogers sucks soooooo much, so yeah, laughing at this team for the next 4 years is going to rule.

I would agree with ďthatís the way itís always beenĒ not being valid. But Iíd say the service time is valid. The front end of the deal is not nearly as important as the backend.

Stop crying that I made fun of your awful baseball team and its garbage ownership.

Itís a hotly contested issue right now for sure and will be one of many very contentious issues at the next CBA.

Woth Tatis Jr. in San Diego a lot of people think it will build loyalty by bringing him up early, others have concern it will hurt his confidence if he ends up getting sent down at some point.

I just personally donít see how it helps develop talent by having them play against guys two levels or more below them talent wise.
