Drafted by the Alouettes in 1981.

If I were going to take an Eastern player, it sure as hell wouldn't be Corrigall. HWSNBN would be a far superior choice.

Not sure how big a star Gabriel was at Syracuse before the CFL? - doubt he has the better resume down there compared to Corrigall. CFL resumes are both outstanding of course. No way "far superior" choice.

QB Nathan Rourke (Ohio) announced as winner this year - deserving choice IMO; maybe some CFL geniuses view him as a safety or slotback project down the road ?

Gabriel - 4 time Most Outstanding Canadian, 1 time Most Outstanding Player, 2 time Grey Cup Champion.

Corrigall - 1 time Most Outstanding Defensive Player

Little bit of a difference in competition between Syracuse and Kent State, don't you think.

Not sure about Syracuse vs. Kent State back in those days (late 60s for Corrigall, early 70s for Gabriel); again though - Corrigall breaks some D stat records, 3 time Conference all-star, jersey # retired by Kent State, PLUS, drafted in the NFL.
