It seems odd that the two main drivers of the old XFL has each independently started new spring leagues that will compete with one another. If they see any success, it seems like there could be an endgame where the two leagues merge.

Look for the players (QBs at least) in the XFL to be wearing a version of the RefCam.

Nobody has ever asked for that.

Jim Zorn announced as the coach and GM of the new Seattle team.
He was their coach in the last attempt to start the XFL, but this is still a strong hire.

Bob Stoops was previously announced for Dallas, and Pep Hamilton for Washington

2 really solid hires and a guy with a great resume finally getting his chance at the top spot. Looks like some good staff being assembled thus far.

The XFL did things differently in its first iteration, and that spirit will carry over into the league's revival.

XFL commissioner Oliver Luck said Tuesday on the PFT PM podcast (h/t ESPN.com) that teams will have three options after scoring a touchdown: A one-point try that could be attempted from the 2-yard line, a two-point attempt from the 5-yard line or a three-point try from the 10-yard line.

"We literally have a nine-point touchdown," he noted. "We think that's valuable because teams that historically are down by let's say three scores, well guess what, if it's a 16-point or a 17-point differential, you're really looking at a two-score game theoretically."
              interesting.

Was also reading that The Spring League is testing out a lot of their rules for them. Apparently there have already been some changes based on reviewing in-game action (like dropping the one yard gap on the LOS). Pretty cool that they are finding a way to test things out.

Colin Cowherd, in a recent spot, stated that he thinks the XFL has better legs than others, and that it has a good chance of panning out for reasons 'can not discuss until into May.' That seems to indicate that FOX won the broadcasting rights. Considering that there was apparently at minimum one other network bidding, they may have faired out well.

Interesting idea on keeping momentum going. I can see some issues with it, but intriguing none the less
                https://www.google.com/amp/s/sports....102006800.html

A couple videos here. One shows the halo/no yards. The other shows a few things suck as what appears to be the 1, 2 and 3 point convert options, none kicking. Another is the kickoff? And it appears they have to line up for yards apart, only the returner back. I suppose this minimizes big collisions. Another seems to show that a caught forward pass can be rethrown if behind the LOS still, which is really interesting
