  • Nike Lawsuit and Extortion

Wow, this is crazy, it seems that a couple high profile attorneys in the USA, one of them a CNN legal analyst tried to extort Nike out of 20 million dollars.

Apparently they know of some type of college or high school scandal.

I'm not sure of how to link to Twitter but apparently he tweeted this 15 minutes before his arrest:

"Tmrw at 11 am ET, we will be holding a press conference to disclose a major high school/college basketball scandal perpetrated by @Nike that we have uncovered. This criminal conduct reaches the highest levels of Nike and involves some of the biggest names in college basketball."

Apparently he called Nike and told them he'd drop it for $20 million, so they said, hold on... We'll call you back.
They rang up their lawyer, and the US Department of Justice, and called him back and asked him to repeat what he had said.

Well, it was, and there's cheques and recordings to confirm. He's a very competent lawyer, but likely a narcissist with some sleaze thrown in for good measure. I suspect he found his way into that particular case purely for self-promotion.
