The Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) Air Support Unit took to Twitter on Tuesday night to share a first.

Police recorded a motorcycle travelling 250 kilometres per hour on a secondary highway near Vanscoy.

According to the pilot, this is most likely a speed record for the air support unit.

The SPS plane tracked the driver heading south on Highway 45 from Delisle. The driver eventually dumped the bike and ran, according to police.

In a statement Wednesday, Saskatoon police said the file was turned over to the RCMP in the area

What is more impressive, 250km/hr or the fact someone has a bike out already?

Especially now, I don't know if the frost is starting to come out of the ground yet or more likely the snow has melted out of the potholes but roads are like a minefield right now.

Wow. I remember doing about that on the autobahn, in a car, in the summer lol.

I hope there are no copycats that will try to break the record.

I don't know all, I know is not that far east I'm stuck in Winnipeg while trying to drive around it. Conditions are so bad they closed the #1 going east. Haven't seen a motorcycle all day lol.

Just thought it funny that a couple days ago some guy is doing 250K on a bike and a few hours away they are closing roads.

Go to the Jets game. The Bruins are in town.

My unscientific guess. I found a windchill chart at candac. At -10, and a wind of 80km/hr, would give you a windchill of around 14C, (-24 in total, I took the 10 out to just get a windchill of 14) So I multiplied that by 3 for a windchill of -42. Then I believe you add that to the -10, so it would feel like -52.

Thought about it but I think I'm going to stay hunkered down. It is nasty here

Would depend whether wind chill is linear or not.

Or an ill wind. Don't mess with ill winds at any speed.
