Well, this is it. The final power rankings for 2008. Time really flew by this season, as we enter now into the most exciting part of the season. While the power rankings are finished, the column will not end. We will have analysis and predictions for every playoff game right through until the Grey Cup. So stay tuned for that! 1. Calgary Stampeders (LW: 1; 13-5) - The Stamps finished the season on a high, with Barack Nealy at quarterback, he scored 3 touchdowns leading the Stamps to victory over BC. They now get the one week bye while they await their Western Final combatant. Division Semi-Finals BYE 2. Montreal Alouettes (LW: 3; 11-7) - Despite a couple of losses in their final games, the Alouettes are 2nd at season's end. They have the best offense in the league, and will surely cause troubles for any team they face in the playoffs. Division Semi-Finals BYE 3. Saskatchewan Roughriders (LW: 4; 12-6) - They needed a big effort, but got the win over Toronto this week, and then their fate was out of their hands. And Calgary delivered them a present. Beating BC in Week 19, the Riders now host those same Lions in their 2nd consecutive home playoff game. Division Semi-Finals vs British Columbia

1. Calgary Stampeders (LW: 2; 10-5) - The Stamps surface at the top once again, following their convincing blowout win over the Riders at home. Calgary is now the runaway favourite to take 1st place in the division and get that bye and host the Western Final. Week 17 vs Winnipeg 2. Montreal Alouettes (LW: 3; 10-5) - A little blip in the road in Week 15 turned into a blowout win at home over Hamilton in Week 16. The Alouettes have played great football lately, and continue to do so. They clinched first place in the East, and are on their way to try to play a home Grey Cup in Montreal. Week 17 at Toronto 3. Edmonton Eskimos (LW: 4; 9-6) - The Esks had an impressive road effort in a win against the Lions in Week 16. And now they head home to gain a big surge in the Western Standings. One that definitely could have them in first place by Week's end. If the defense holds, Edmonton may become the team to beat. Week 17 vs BC |

1. British Columbia Lions (LW: 3; 9-5) - I don't think there is much doubt that the BC Lions are currently the best team in the CFL. Sure, they haven't played up to par opponents since their last loss at Montreal (Saskatchewan being the only above .500 club), but they are dominating these teams. And as noticed in Week 15 with Montreal, you still have to show up and play. Week 16 vs Edmonton 2. Calgary Stampeders (LW: 1; 9-5) - The Stamps went into Mosaic Stadium and didn't play their best ball. While the offense had a pretty good game, the defense did not. The Stamps now host the Riders in a pivotal game that will have major implications on the standings. Week 16 vs Saskatchewan
3. Montreal Alouettes (LW: 2; 9-5) - The Alouettes get bumped back one spot this week following their loss to Hamilton. The defense was brutal, while the offense was great as usual. They may have been caught off guard with next to nothing to play for. We will see however how this loss impacts the Als in the next few games. Week 16 vs Hamilton |

1. Calgary Stampeders (LW: 1; 9-4) - The Stamps retain the top spot among the rankings. They once again defeated Toronto, and after a slower start, ran away with the game. A big series ensues now, as they have a home and home with Saskatchewan. Week 15 at Saskatchewan 2. Montreal Alouettes (LW: 2; 9-4) - Looky here, the team that seemingly couldn't find a way to win against the West has had two dominant performances against them now. The only thing keeping Montreal from the top spot at this point, is their two losses to Calgary. Week 15 at Hamilton 3. British Columbia Lions (LW: 3; 8-5) - The Lions were victorious once again in Week 14. Knocking off the Tiger-Cats at home. BC is getting hot at the right time, and if their cards are played right, they may host the Western Final once again. Week 15 at Toronto |
